As Enerjisa Enerji sustains its efforts for social support in the earthquake region, a meaningful event was organized at Enerjisa Atatürk Elementary School, which was built in Hassa District of Hatay, on the anniversary of the earthquakes occurred on February 6, 2023. Enerjisa Enerji’s senior management and employees attended the event during which students enjoyed theater plays, face painting and children’s plays.
Implementing its sustainability projects with the vision of ‘A better future for everyone’, Enerjisa Enerji sustains its efforts to restructure the earthquake region in Hatay, the city which suffered the highest damage due to the earthquakes occurred on February 6 and which is one of the cities with the highest number of students in the region.
During the ‘back to school’ event organized for the students who return from the midterm holidays on the 2nd anniversary of the earthquakes at Enerjisa Atatürk Elementary School, built in Hassa District of Hatay, children living in the earthquake region experienced a joyful and meaningful day while people who lost their lives during the earthquake were commemorated.
The commemoration ceremony was attended by Osman Acar, District Governor of Hassa; Selahattin Çolak, Mayor of Hassa; Sait Bayraktar, National Education Director of Hassa District; Murat Pınar, CEO at Enerjisa Enerji; Oğuzhan Özsürekci, Managing Director at Enerjisa Distribution Companies; Ersin Esentürk, Managing Director at Enerjisa Enerji Retail Companies; Dr. Philipp Ulbrich, CFO at Enerjisa Enerji as well as Enerjisa employees, students and teachers.
The students experienced a joyful day thanks to the back-to-school event, including various programs and children’s plays such as face painting and balloon workshop.
The theater play ‘Küsmesin Yıldızlar’ (‘May the Stars Not Be Offended’) was staged for 350 students during the event, which has been on stage nationwide for more than 350,000 children to raise awareness of children on saving while celebrating the 15th anniversary of the project by Enerjisa Enerji.
Furthermore, a picture exhibition was opened with a theme of “A Better Future” in which 3rd and 4th grade students of Enerjisa Atatürk Elementary School exhibited their drawings. Consisting of drawings of students which reflect children’s dreams and hopes for Hatay, the exhibition also offered a hopeful perspective for the future while strengthening students’ bond to art.
Emphasizing that Enerjisa Enerji will continue to support the earthquake zone as much as possible, Murat Pınar, CEO at Enerjisa Enerji, stated, “One of the most important factors to prioritize in Hatay, one of our ancient cities and home to many civilizations throughout history, to restructure the earthquake zone and be able to look forward to the future with hope, is education. And for that very reason, led by Sabancı Foundation with the contributions of our foreign shareholder E.ON, we had already gifted “Enerjisa Atatürk Elementary School” last year in Hatay, which has the highest number of students in the disaster zone, on April 23, National Sovereignty and Children’s Day. Now we are happy to be with our 350 students in our school at this back-to-school event. We will sustain our efforts for a better and sustainable education and a better future for our children who are guarantees of our future.”
