Continuing its operations with the goal of offering uninterrupted and sustainable energy service, Başkent EDAŞ sustained its maintenance, repair and investment efforts throughout Kastamonu in 2024. Despite the challenging seasonal and geographical conditions in Kastamonu, which is located in the inner parts of the Black Sea Region and stands out with its mountainous landscape and dense forests, the company strengthened its energy infrastructure and also prioritized digital transformation and customer-oriented projects.
Başkent EDAŞ, one of the three distribution companies operating under Enerjisa Distribution Companies which place sustainability to the core of its business strategy and lead the energy transformation in Türkiye with its people- and technology-oriented projects, carried out successful activities to supply reliable and uninterrupted energy to more than 320,000 subscribers in Kastamonu.
Energy infrastructure in Kastamonu strengthens
Providing services at 4,929 substations and on 22,032-kilometre-long energy line in Kastamonu, Başkent EDAŞ carried out extensive maintenance works as well as investments in order to supply sustainable and uninterrupted energy. Significant efforts were exerted to ensure energy continuity in the rugged landscape of the rural settlements widely expanded over Kastamonu.
Başkent EDAŞ completed the maintenance works for a total of 7,382 lighting fixtures in Merkez, Devrekani, Seydiler, Ağlı, Araç, İhsangazi, Çatalzeytin, Bozkurt, İnebolu, Abana, Doğanyurt, Taşköprü, Hanönü, Tosya, Cide, Şenpazar, Azdavay, Pınarbaşı, Daday and Küre districts. In this regard, Başkent EDAŞ also completed the maintenance works of 77 panels, 138 substations and 79 distribution centers, besides the maintenance works carried out on 3,221-kilometer-long energy lines. As a result of these efforts, the energy infrastructure in the Kastamonu city center and the districts spread over mountainous and densely forested landscape became more resilient.
Investments for a better-lit Kastamonu
Successfully achieving its investment goals for 2024, Başkent EDAŞ improved the infrastructure by laying 61-kilometer-long new energy cables, while creating safer and better-lit areas throughout the city by installing 939 new lighting fixtures. The company also enhanced the measures to avoid power outages, particularly in the winter season, by installing 68 additional electrical panels and 27 new substations. As a result of these maintenance, repair, and investment efforts, Başkent EDAŞ entirely and successfully achieved the goals it set for 2024.
More efficient energy management with technology-oriented solutions
Pioneering the digitalization process in the energy industry, Başkent EDAŞ enhanced efficiency in 2024 as well, by integrating technology into the operational processes. Mobile Telecommunication and Charging Stations, which were established as part of the Disaster and Emergency Wireless Telecommunication System Project carried out by Enerjisa Distribution Companies, supported disaster management efforts by facilitating uninterrupted communication in regions at risk of earthquakes and floods, such as Kastamonu, in times of crisis. Furthermore, the digital customer service was enhanced by offering swifter and more efficient assistance to customers through instant messaging with the ChatVolt application.
