Toroslar EDAŞ and Başkent EDAŞ, distribution companies of Enerjisa, sustain their positions to be the electricity distribution companies that once again carried out the highest amount of investment in the past year
Providing electricity distribution services to 1 out of every 4 consumers in Turkey with over 21 million users, Toroslar EDAŞ and Başkent EDAŞ, Enerjisa Distribution Companies, sustained their leadership among the electricity distribution companies by carrying out the highest amount of investment in 2021.
According to the 2021 Industry Report issued by the Association of Distribution System Operators (ELDER), Toroslar EDAŞ ranked the top electricity distribution company among 21 others by carrying out the highest amount of investment in Turkey in 2021 by an investment amount of TL 1,486,200,000.
Başkent EDAŞ, another Enerjisa distribution company, followed Toroslar EDAŞ by an investment amount of TL 1,352,800,000. Thus, the top two electricity distribution companies that invested the highest amount in the 2016-2020 regulatory period stayed the same in the first year of the 2021-2025 regulatory period.
An annual increase of 47 percent in investments
While Toroslar EDAŞ increased its total investment amount of TL 1,016,800,000 in the previous year by 46.2 percent; Başkent EDAŞ increased its total investment amount of TL 956,300,000 in 2020 by 41.5 percent.
Ayedaş, the third distribution company of Enerjisa operating at the Anatolian Side of Istanbul, increased its annual investment amount of TL 330,600,000 in 2020 to TL 550,800,000 by an increase of 66.6 percent.
As a result, the three distribution companies of Enerjisa increased their investment amounts by 47 percent compared to the previous year by a total amount of TL 3,389,800,000 in 2021, and carried out 23 percent of the total electricity distribution investments in Turkey.
