  • Having the goal to provide uninterrupted and sustainable energy in Zonguldak, Başkent EDAŞ increased its investments by 2,5 times to a budget of TL 65 million in 2022 by constructing 9 energy transmission lines

Başkent Elektrik Dağıtım A.Ş. (Başkent EDAŞ) has increased its investments by 2.5 times to a budget of 65 million compared to the previous year by constructing 9 energy transmission lines (ETL) in order to meet the increasing energy demand and provide uninterrupted and high-quality service as part of its 2022 investments in Zonguldak.

Başkent EDAŞ included the distribution centers Çaycuma, Devrek, Ereğli and Kozlu districts, which have completed their economic lives, and of which the existing ETLs and lines are connected to, within the scope of the project. Initiating the project in August, the Company completed the project in 5 months, which is a very short period compared to equivalent projects.

Thanks to the projects completed in December 2022, Başkent EDAŞ moved underground the low-voltage and high-voltage lines that fail frequently and replaced and rehabilitated 9 ETLs and 6 distribution centers. The goal of the project was to achieve high-quality and uninterrupted energy by providing alternative energy supply to the ring network line with 25 separate measurement cabins with breakers and modular buildings, which are mostly used as sub-facilities for distribution facilities in rural areas.

  • 310 kilometers of additional conductors used in the network

With the purpose of enabling operational convenience for the networks in Zonguldak, Başkent EDAŞ increased the operation level of 15.8 kV with old technology to 34.5 kV in order to reduce downtime and establish alternative energy systems as part of the aforementioned projects.

As part of its 2022 investments, Başkent EDAŞ replaced 367 ETL poles that have completed their economic lives and disassembled 98 ETL poles. As part of the projects, approximately 310,000 meters of high-voltage line conductors, 2000 meters of low-voltage line conductors, 6 buildings for measurement cabins with breakers and 78 cells were used.
